Overview

Datacast XD is the solution for delivering secure/guaranteed file-based content via multicast-enabled networks including satellite, WAN/LAN, and cable.

Datacast XD is IDC’s leading edge content management and distribution software. Scalable, modular, and feature-rich, Datacast XD is proven technology with years of development and long-term deployments by some of the world’s leading broadcasters.

Datacast XD provides high speed, addressable distribution of file-based content to remote client servers. The intuitive, open-standards software design allows for easy integration and operation within existing LAN, WAN, cable and/or satellite IP networks. Users can manage and distribute video, audio and data in simple or complex networks.

Datacast XD Client is included on all IDC SuperFlex receivers including SuperFlex Pro Data, and Pro Video product series.

Datacast XD is easy as 1-2-3. Content flows seamlessly from ingest to transport to receive and onwards into your network. Network operators can accept content from a variety of ingest methods such as FTP, SAMBA, or portable hard disk.

The transport of content is fast, ultra-efficient and secure. Datacast XD has a high throughput and can manage all files sizes. FEC and encryption are all done on-the-fly with Datacast XD.

Files are not simply received by a receiver. Datacast XD allows file forwarding to other devices (LAN or WAN), such as “push” content delivery or “pull” of on-demand content.

Advanced file post-processing at the remote location is provided by the DataMan Client.
