Production Manager

Overview

The Production Manager™ provides centralized content management of store-and-forward and live programming.

The Production Manager is a very powerful content management tool used by IDC’s SuperFlex® products such as the SuperFlex Pro Audio, SuperFlex Pro Video and SuperFlex Enterprise Video. In these networks, Production Manager causes and controls the insertion of live and/or stored programming on remote receivers from the network operations center (NOC).

Production Manager for Pro Audio

Production Manager enables the critical "copy split" features that form the basis of exciting new revenue models for professional audio networks today. Production Manager provides both the scheduled program and "Live Assist" functionality required for the system so that the operator can trigger pre‐defined events such as the insertion of commercials, regionalized content ("copy split"), activation of a playlist, changing of channels, firing of relay closures and the returning to live programming.

Production Manager for Pro Video

Production Manager allows the system operator to schedule system-wide events for real-time broadcast of live programming. It is used for scheduling of file based programming, channels selection, playlist rotation, creation and activation.

Production Manager for Enterprise Video

Production Manager allows the system operator to schedule system-wide scheduling of receiver rotation cycles typically used in Enterprise networks such as e-cinema, business television, digital signage and distance learning. It is used for scheduling of file based programming.

Automation System Interface

Production Manager provides an interface to third-party automation systems to essentially control the IDC based system. Production Manager allows third-party systems to send commands in the form of real-time electronic interfaces using IP over Ethernet via WSDL or optionally using a flat file import. Additionally, Production Manager has a comprehensive Web-based GUI that allows the operator to directly enter appropriate programming information and thus bypass the need for electronic interfaces. This GUI also shows the results of interpretation of the electronic interface originated commands.

System Management

Production Manager provides management of IDC’s Datacast XD Server and Event Manager (for audio networks) and allows the operator to manage the redundancy, priority queuing, retransmissions and much more.
