SE2000

The SE2000 MPEG-2 Encoder is specifically featured for LPTV, translator and full power ATSC television stations, as well as cable head-end and closed-circuit cable applications. Its impressive feature set and performance is the result of years of leadership in the Broadcast Contribution and Satellite Modem business. Tiernan technology enabled the first commercial deployment of MPEG-2 video compression for use in the outside broadcast industry in 1995, and continues today with advanced video compression technology supporting the ATSC digital television rollout. The SE2000 provides industry leading Tiernan audio and video encoding in a rugged 1RU chassis, and is ideal for large system networks as well as individual television stations and cable head-ends.

Low Bit Rate Encoding Performance:

Through the use of the latest encoding engines, as well as various pre-processing and encoding parameter adjustments, the SE2000 provides exceptional low bit rate performance.

Easy to Use:

The SE2000 includes a Web Browser based Graphic User Interface for easy configuration. It also has an RS-232 proprietary command line M&C and SNMP via Ethernet.

Reliable and Affordable:

By using the latest integration of MPEG and low power digital electronics technology, the SE2000 delivers an encoder in a small, quiet, low- power consumption, highly reliable, and feature rich package. The SE2000 even includes redundant cooling fans with fault monitoring to ensure trouble-free operation under the harshest of conditions.

Redundancy:

With the inclusion of a Tiernan integrated multiplexer, both simple and advanced redundant configurations can be provided in a very space and cost efficient manner.

Secure Transmission:

For CATV and CCTV systems, the SE2000 can be integrated with all industry standard encryption systems, such as Irdeto or Nagra. For smaller systems using Tiernan decoders, Tiernan's proprietary conditional access system may be used. Tiernan's Privacy Guard Conditional Access (PGCA) provides decoder addressability and ensures secure transmissions.
