IDC's SuperFlex DVB broadband satellite datacasting system is tailored to meet the individual needs and specifications of each customer.

Overview Products, systems, services. International Datacasting manufactures a broad range of hardware and software products that can be combined with other components (e.g. antennas) to provide complete systems for the broadcasting of radio/audio and data of various types (including digitized and compressed video). A typical system includes head-end equipment and software that gathers, digitizes, encodes, compresses and transmits the information. Satellite receivers receive the signal from the satellite, decompress it, correct errors and distribute the information in the format required. Integrated PC-based software, also developed by International Datacasting, manages the overall process, monitors performance and controls access.

Satellites have the unique advantage of being able to cover large portions of the earth's surface. A typical satellite carries a set of transponders that are used to receive signals transmitted from the earth and then rebroadcast these signals back to receivers distributed over a wide area. These transponders are used to deliver voice, data and television signals worldwide.
