Ottawa, ON, November 20, 2014 – International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), a technology provider for the world’s premiere broadcasters, is pleased to announce that the Ministerio De Educacion of Ecuador has selected IDC to supply video encoding and receive equipment for an new distance education network. IDC’s feature rich TITAN™ 3 video encoding solution and HMR satellite video receivers will deliver educational programming to major cities across Ecuador.

“IDC is a trusted name in Latin America for professional video broadcast solutions, and the TITAN 3 encoder is the perfect solution for our network,” said Ing. Pablo Molina of the Ministerio de Educacion of Ecuador.  “The improved video quality and very low latency of the TITAN 3 encoder will deliver the best images and user experience for our distance education viewers.”

The TITAN 3 provides the perfect balance of high video quality, ground-breaking latency performance, and best-in-class usability for demanding broadcast applications. IDC designed the TITAN 3 with extremely low latency - or encoding delay - of only 150ms, which enables broadcasters to be first to air with breaking news, and to conduct the most natural live interviews from remote locations.  With available 4:2:2 10-bit encoding in High Definition, and support for 150 ms latency to a wide range of decoder platforms, TITAN 3 raises the standard for video contribution.

“The selection of the TITAN 3 encoder for this network is proof of its versatility and suitability to a wide variety of video compression tasks,” said Doug Lowther, President and CEO of IDC.  “We are especially pleased that the TITAN 3 encoder continues to win over new customers with its great image quality and ease of use.”

The TITAN 3 encoders and HMR decoders will be delivered in partnership with Advicom Cia. Ltda, IDC’s reseller in Ecuador. “We are very pleased to be supplying this important education network with a state-of-the-art solution from IDC,” said Paul Rojas, General Manager of Advicom.
